First Sailing - active patrol
U-204 left Kiel under the command of Walter Kell on 24th May 1941 and arrived at Brest on 27th Jun 1941 after nearly five weeks.
Walter Kell hit two ships on this patrol.
  • On 31st May 1941 he sank the Icelandic 16 ton Holmsteinn.
  • On 10th Jun 1941 he sank the Belgian 7,886 ton Mercier.
22.07.1941 - 22.08.1941
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 22nd Jul 1941, U-204 left Brest under the command of Walter Kell and returned to Brest on 22nd Aug 1941 after four and a half weeks on patrol.
Walter Kell hit one ship on this patrol from convoy OG-71.
  • On 19th Aug 1941 he sank the Norwegian 1,060 ton HNoMS Bath, sailing with convoy OG-71.
20.09.1941 - 19.10.1941
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-204 departed under Walter Kell from Brest on 20th Sep 1941. U-204 was lost on 19th Oct 1941.
Walter Kell hit two ships on this patrol.
  • On 14th Oct 1941 he sank the Spanish 300 ton Aingeru Guardakoa.
  • On 19th Oct 1941 he sank the British 9,158 ton Inverlee.
