U-273 left Kiel under the command of Hermann Rossmann on 8th May 1943 and arrived at Bergen on 11th May 1943 after three days.

On the 12th May 1943, U-273 left Bergen under the command of Hermann Rossmann. The boat was lost on 19th May 1943. At 1625 HRS on 19th May 1943 in square AL 14, U-273 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 269 Squadron. U-273 was destroyed in the attack.
