First Sailing - active patrol
U-300 left Kiel under the command of Fritz Hein on 13th Jul 1944 and arrived at Horten on 15th Jul 1944 after two days.
18.07.1944 - 17.08.1944
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 18th Jul 1944, U-300 left Horten under the command of Fritz Hein and after over four weeks arrived at Trondheim on 17th Aug 1944.
04.10.1944 - 02.12.1944
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-300 departed under Fritz Hein from Trondheim on 4th Oct 1944 and arrived at Stavanger on 2nd Dec 1944 after eight and a half weeks.
Fritz Hein hit three ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy, all of them from convoy UR-142.
  • On 10th Nov 1944 he sank the British 269 ton Empire Wold, sailing with convoy UR-142.
  • On 10th Nov 1944 he sank the Icelandic 1,542 ton Godafoss, a member of convoy UR-142.
  • On 10th Nov 1944 he sank the British 6,017 ton Shirvan, part of convoy UR-142.
21.01.1945 - 22.02.1945
Fourth Sailing - active patrol
U-300 left Stavanger under the command of Fritz Hein on 21st Jan 1945. The boat was sunk on 22nd Feb 1945.
Fritz Hein hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy, both of them were from convoy UGS-72.
  • On 17th Feb 1945 he damaged the American 7,176 ton Michael J Stone, from convoy UGS-72.
  • On 17th Feb 1945 he fatally damaged the British 9,551 ton Regent Lion, sailing with convoy UGS-72.
