U-33 left Wilhelmshaven under the command of Hans-Wilhelm von Dresky on 19th Aug 1939 and arrived back at Wilhelmshaven more than five weeks later on 28th Sep 1939.

On the 29th Oct 1939, U-33 left Wilhelmshaven under the command of Hans-Wilhelm von Dresky and returned to Wilhelmshaven on 26th Nov 1939 after four weeks on patrol.
Hans-Wilhelm von Dresky hit six ships on this patrol.-
On 20th Nov 1939 he sank the British 250 ton Delphine.
