02.07.1941 - 19.08.1941 First Sailing - active patrol U-331 left Kiel under the command of Freiherr Hans-Diedrich von Tiesenhausen on 2nd Jul 1941 and arrived at Lorient on 19th Aug 1941 after nearly seven weeks.
24.09.1941 - 11.10.1941 Second Sailing - active patrol On the 24th Sep 1941, U-331 left Lorient under the command of Freiherr Hans-Diedrich von Tiesenhausen and after two and a half weeks arrived at Salamis on 11th Oct 1941. Freiherr Hans-Diedrich von Tiesenhausen hit one ship on this patrol. On 10th Oct 1941 he damaged the British 360 ton HMS LCT-18.
12.11.1941 - 03.12.1941 Third Sailing - active patrol U-331 departed under Freiherr Hans-Diedrich von Tiesenhausen from Salamis on 12th Nov 1941 and arrived back at Salamis on 3rd Dec 1941 after three weeks on patrol.
