First Sailing - active patrol
U-336 left Kiel under the command of Hans Hunger on 12th Nov 1942 and arrived at return on 13th Nov 1942 after one day.
28.11.1942 - 08.01.1943
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 28th Nov 1942, U-336 left Kiel under the command of Hans Hunger and after nearly six weeks arrived at return on 8th Jan 1943.
On 5th Jan 1943 in square BE 68, U-336 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. U-336 was only slightly damaged in the attack.
Hans Hunger hit one ship on this patrol from convoy ONS-154.
  • On 29th Dec 1942 he sank the Belgian 4,919 ton President Francqui, sailing with convoy ONS-154.
02.03.1943 - 11.04.1943
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-336 departed under Hans Hunger from Brest on 2nd Mar 1943 and arrived at return on 11th Apr 1943 after more than five weeks.
At 1035 HRS on 10th Mar 1943 in square BD 22, U-336 came under attack from an aircraft of USN VC-9 Squadron.
At 2040 HRS on 17th Mar 1943 in square AK 89, U-336 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 120 Squadron. U-336 was not damaged by the attack.
At 0959 HRS on 20th Mar 1943 in square AL 57, U-336 came under attack from an aircraft of RCAF 423 Squadron. U-336 was not damaged by the attack.
08.05.1943 - 17.07.1943
Fourth Sailing - active patrol
U-336 left Brest under the command of Hans Hunger on 8th May 1943 and after ten weeks arrived at return on 17th Jul 1943.
On 11th May 1943 in square BF 44, U-336 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.
26.08.1943 - 27.08.1943
Fifth Sailing
On the 26th Aug 1943, U-336 left Lorient under the command of Hans Hunger and arrived at return on 27th Aug 1943 after one day.
14.09.1943 - 05.10.1943
Sixth Sailing
U-336 departed under Hans Hunger from Brest on 14th Sep 1943 and after three weeks arrived at return on 5th Oct 1943.
