27.04.1944 - 01.05.1944 First Sailing - active patrol U-344 left Kiel under the command of Ulrich Pietsch on 27th Apr 1944 and arrived at Flekkefjord on 1st May 1944 after four days.
14.05.1944 - 15.05.1944 Second Sailing - active patrol On the 14th May 1944, U-344 left Flekkefjord under the command of Ulrich Pietsch and after one day arrived at Bergen on 15th May 1944.
20.05.1944 - 27.05.1944 Third Sailing - active patrol U-344 departed under Ulrich Pietsch from Bergen on 20th May 1944 and arrived at Narvik on 27th May 1944 after one week.
31.05.1944 - 08.07.1944 Fourth Sailing - active patrol U-344 left Narvik under the command of Ulrich Pietsch on 31st May 1944 and after five and a half weeks arrived at Bogenbucht on 8th Jul 1944.
03.08.1944 - 22.08.1944 Fifth Sailing - active patrol On the 3rd Aug 1944, U-344 left Bogenbucht under the command of Ulrich Pietsch. U-344 was lost on 22nd Aug 1944. Ulrich Pietsch hit one ship on this patrol from convoy JW-59. On 21st Aug 1944 he sank the British 1,350 ton HMS Kite, sailing with convoy JW-59.
