Operations information for U-386
15.04.1943 - 11.05.1943
First Sailing - active patrol
U-386 left Kiel under the command of Hans-Albrecht Kandler on 15th Apr 1943 and arrived at St. Nazaire on 11th May 1943 after more than three weeks.
On 26th Apr 1943 in square AL 21, U-386 came under attack from an aircraft of USN VP-84 Squadron. U-386 was not damaged by the attack.
Hans-Albrecht Kandler hit one ship on this patrol from convoy RU-71.
  • On 24th Apr 1943 he sank the British 1,997 ton Rosenborg, sailing with convoy RU-71.
29.06.1943 - 08.07.1943
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 29th Jun 1943, U-386 left St. Nazaire under the command of Fritz Albrecht and returned to St. Nazaire on 8th Jul 1943 after just over one week on patrol.
29.08.1943 - 08.10.1943
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-386 departed under Fritz Albrecht from St. Nazaire on 29th Aug 1943 and arrived back at St. Nazaire on 8th Oct 1943 after more than five weeks on patrol.
26.12.1943 - 19.02.1944
Fourth Sailing - active patrol
U-386 left St. Nazaire under the command of Fritz Albrecht on 26th Dec 1943. U-386 was sunk on 19th Feb 1944.
