| Operations information for U-414 | 07.01.1943 - 19.02.1943 First Sailing - active patrol
U-414 left Kiel under the command of Walther Huth on 7th Jan 1943 and arrived at return on 19th Feb 1943 after just over six weeks. On 16th Jan 1943 in square AL 12, U-414 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft. U-414 was not damaged by the attack. On 4th Feb 1943 in square AJ 81, U-414 came under attack from an aircraft of RCAF 5 Squadron. U-414 was heavily damaged in the attack.

On the 1st Apr 1943, U-414 left St. Nazaire under the command of Walther Huth and after nearly two weeks arrived at return on 14th Apr 1943.
| 13.05.1943 - 25.05.1943 Third Sailing
U-414 departed under Walther Huth from La Spezia on 13th May 1943 and arrived at return on 25th May 1943 after more than one week.
Walther Huth hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy, both of them were from convoy KMS-14.-
On 18th May 1943 he sank the British 5,979 ton Empire Eve, sailing with convoy KMS-14.

On 18th May 1943 he damaged the British 7,134 ton Fort Anne, a member of convoy KMS-14.
