U-508 left Kiel under the command of Georg Staats on 25th Jun 1942 and arrived at Lorient on 15th Sep 1942 after more than eleven weeks.
Georg Staats hit two ships on this patrol and both of them were in convoy, both of them were from convoy SpecCon-12.
On 12th Aug 1942 he sank the 1,685 ton Santiago de Cuba, sailing with convoy SpecCon-12.
On 12th Aug 1942 he sank the 1,025 ton Manzanillo, a member of convoy SpecCon-12.

On the 17th Oct 1942, U-508 left Lorient under the command of Georg Staats and returned to Lorient on 6th Jan 1943 after eleven and a half weeks on patrol.

U-508 departed under Georg Staats from Lorient on 22nd Feb 1943 and arrived back at Lorient on 15th Mar 1943 after three weeks on patrol.
On 26th Feb 1943 in square BE 94, U-508 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 224 Squadron. U-508 was heavily damaged in the attack. |
