09.02.1945 - 10.02.1945 Second Sailing On the 9th Feb 1945, U-879 left Horten under the command of Erwin Manchen and after one day arrived at Kristiansand on 10th Feb 1945.
11.02.1945 - 30.04.1945 Third Sailing - active patrol U-879 departed under Erwin Manchen from Kristiansand on 11th Feb 1945. U-879 was lost on 30th Apr 1945. Erwin Manchen hit one ship on this patrol. On 5th Apr 1945 he damaged the American 8,537 ton Atlantic States.
