22.04.1943 - 26.04.1943
First Sailing
U-952 left Kiel under the command of Oskar Curio on 22nd Apr 1943 and arrived at Bergen on 26th Apr 1943 after four days.
At 1650 HRS on 24th Apr 1943 in square AN 32, U-952 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 235 Squadron. U-952 was moderately damaged by the attack. The boat defended itself with flak without destroying the aircraft.
27.04.1943 - 31.05.1943
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 27th Apr 1943, U-952 left Bergen under the command of Oskar Curio and after nearly five weeks arrived at Bordeaux on 31st May 1943.
On 2nd May 1943 in square AE 83, U-952 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 269 Squadron.
On 4th May 1943 in square AL 22, U-952 came under attack from an aircraft of USN VP-84 Squadron.
At 1429 HRS on 6th May 1943 in square AL 13, U-952 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 269 Squadron.
At 1806 HRS on 6th May 1943 in square AK 34, U-952 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 269 Squadron.
At 2045 HRS on 6th May 1943 in square AK 34, U-952 came under attack from an aircraft of RAF 269 Squadron. U-952 was moderately damaged by the attack.
At 1335 HRS on 19th May 1943 in square AK 54, U-952 came under attack from an unidentified aircraft.
02.08.1943 - 02.08.1943
Third Sailing
U-952 departed under Oskar Curio from Bordeaux on 2nd Aug 1943 and arrived at La Pallice on the same day.
26.08.1943 - 05.09.1943
Fourth Sailing
U-952 left La Pallice under the command of Oskar Curio on 26th Aug 1943 and returned one and a half weeks later to La Pallice on 5th Sep 1943.
06.09.1943 - 23.10.1943
Fifth Sailing - active patrol
On the 6th Sep 1943, U-952 left La Pallice under the command of Oskar Curio and arrived back at La Pallice more than six weeks later on 23rd Oct 1943.
Oskar Curio hit three ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy, all of them from convoy ON-202.
  • On 21st Sep 1943 he sank the British 925 ton HMS Polyanthus, sailing with convoy ON-202.
  • On 23rd Sep 1943 he sank the American 6,198 ton Steel Voyager, a member of convoy ON-202.
  • On 23rd Sep 1943 he damaged the American 7,176 ton James Gordon Bennett, part of convoy ON-202.

U-952 left La Pallice under the command of Oskar Curio on 16th Dec 1943 and arrived at Toulon on 15th Jan 1944 after over four weeks.

On the 17th Feb 1944, U-952 left Toulon under the command of Oskar Curio and after four and a half weeks arrived at La Spezia on 20th Mar 1944.
Oskar Curio hit one ship on this patrol.
