Master Capt Henry Carlton Bower

Convoy OB-229 comprised 35 ships.� The Master, 62 crew and two gunners were lost.� The sole survivor, chief cook James Thompson Harvey, was rescued by the Canadian destroyer HMCS Saguenay (D.79) (Capt. G.R. Miles) and landed at Greenock on 23 October.
