3.07.1941 recruited from NKRP, armed and 29.07.1941 sent to Northern Fleet as SKR pennant No. 55. From 13.08.1941 assigned to White Sea flotilla. 20.09.1941 converted to minesweeper. Pennant changed to No. 58.

On 25th July 1943 a Soviet convoy consisting of 13 river ships, sailed from the mouth of Pechora river bound for Obskaja Guba. At 02.40 the escort minesweeper T-904, while leading the convoy struck a mine which exploded under the boiler-room. The minesweeper sank within 1.5 � 2 minutes in a depth of 16 meters. There were 45 men on the ship, 10 of them were killed (including 2 officers) and 3, including the commander of the convoy Captain 1st Class A.K.Egorov, were seriously wounded. The minesweeper T-887 transferred the 3 wounded men to Khabarovo village, other survivors went to Belushja Guba aboard the minesweeper T-879.
