First Sailing
U-137 left Kiel under the command of Herbert Wohlfarth on 14th Sep 1940 and arrived at Stavanger on 17th Sep 1940 after three days.
21.09.1940 - 29.09.1940
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 21st Sep 1940, U-137 left Stavanger under the command of Herbert Wohlfarth and after just over one week arrived at Lorient on 29th Sep 1940.
Herbert Wohlfarth hit three ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy, all of them from convoy OB-218.
  • On 26th Sep 1940 he sank the British 4,753 ton Stratford, sailing with convoy OB-218.
  • On 26th Sep 1940 he damaged the British 4,917 ton Ashantian, a member of convoy OB-218.
  • On 26th Sep 1940 he sank the British 6,042 ton Manchester Brigade, part of convoy OB-218.
