First Sailing - active patrol
U-201 left Kiel under the command of Adalbert Schnee on 22nd Apr 1941 and arrived at Lorient on 18th May 1941 after more than three weeks.
Adalbert Schnee hit three ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy: One was from convoy HX-121 and two were from convoy OB-318.
  • On 2nd May 1941 he sank the British 8,190 ton Capulet, sailing with convoy HX-121.
  • On 9th May 1941 he sank the British 5,802 ton Gregalia, a member of convoy OB-318.
  • On 9th May 1941 he damaged the British 5,969 ton Empire Cloud, part of convoy OB-318.
08.06.1941 - 19.07.1941
Second Sailing - active patrol
On the 8th Jun 1941, U-201 left Lorient under the command of Adalbert Schnee and after nearly six weeks arrived at Brest on 19th Jul 1941.
14.08.1941 - 25.08.1941
Third Sailing - active patrol
U-201 departed under Adalbert Schnee from Brest on 14th Aug 1941 and arrived back at Brest on 25th Aug 1941 after one and a half weeks on patrol.
Adalbert Schnee hit four ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy, all of them from convoy OG-71.
  • On 19th Aug 1941 he sank the British 1,809 ton Ciscar, from convoy OG-71.
  • On 19th Aug 1941 he sank the British 3,255 ton Aguila, sailing with convoy OG-71.
  • On 23rd Aug 1941 he sank the British 787 ton Stork, a member of convoy OG-71.
  • On 23rd Aug 1941 he sank the British 1,974 ton Aldergrove, part of convoy OG-71.
14.09.1941 - 30.09.1941
Fourth Sailing - active patrol
U-201 left Brest under the command of Adalbert Schnee on 14th Sep 1941 and returned over two weeks later to Brest on 30th Sep 1941.
Adalbert Schnee hit six ships on this patrol and all of them were in convoy: three were from convoy HG-73 and three were from convoy OG-74.
  • On 21st Sep 1941 he sank the British 1,381 ton Rhineland, from convoy OG-74.
  • On 21st Sep 1941 he sank the British 1,511 ton Lissa, sailing with convoy OG-74.
  • On 21st Sep 1941 he sank the British 1,575 ton Runa, a member of convoy OG-74.
  • On 27th Sep 1941 he sank the Norwegian 2,468 ton Siremalm, part of convoy HG-73.
  • On 27th Sep 1941 he sank the British 3,103 ton Margareta, from convoy HG-73.
  • On 27th Sep 1941 he sank the British 5,155 ton HMS Springbank, sailing with convoy HG-73.

Fifth Sailing - active patrol
On the 29th Oct 1941, U-201 left Brest under the command of Adalbert Schnee and arrived back at Brest nearly six weeks later on 9th Dec 1941.
24.03.1942 - 21.05.1942
Sixth Sailing - active patrol
U-201 departed under Adalbert Schnee from Brest on 24th Mar 1942 and returned to Brest on 21st May 1942 after over eight weeks on patrol.
Adalbert Schnee hit four ships on this patrol.
  • On 18th Apr 1942 he damaged the Argentinian 7,417 ton Victoria.
  • On 21st Apr 1942 he sank the Norwegian 2,027 ton Bris.
  • On 22nd Apr 1942 he sank the American 6,069 ton San Jacinto.
  • On 22nd Apr 1942 he sank the British 7,217 ton Derryheen.

U-201 left Brest under the command of Adalbert Schnee on 27th Jun 1942 and arrived back at Brest on 8th Aug 1942 after six weeks on patrol.

  • On 13th Jul 1942 he sank the British 6,723 ton Sithonia, from convoy OS-33.
  • On 15th Jul 1942 he sank the British 6,990 ton British Yeoman.
  • On 25th Jul 1942 he sank the British 545 ton HMS Laertes.

Eighth Sailing - active patrol
On the 6th Sep 1942, U-201 left Brest under the command of Günther Rosenberg and returned just over seven weeks later to Brest on 26th Oct 1942.
Günther Rosenberg hit three ships on this patrol.
  • On 2nd Oct 1942 he sank the American 2,084 ton Alcoa Transport.
  • On 8th Oct 1942 he sank the American 7,191 ton John Carter Rose.
  • On 9th Oct 1942 he sank the Dutch 6,421 ton Flensburg.
27.12.1942 - 29.12.1942
Ninth Sailing
U-201 departed under Günther Rosenberg from Brest on 27th Dec 1942 and arrived back at Brest two days later on 29th Dec 1942.

Tenth Sailing - active patrol
U-201 left Brest under the command of Günther Rosenberg on 3rd Jan 1943. U-201 was sunk on 17th Feb 1943.
